The convention industry seems to be ever evolving especially when it comes to the exhibit type. From my view custom displays have seen the most drastic changes over the last couple of years. These trade show exhibits have changed from the traditional wood laminated panel display to incorporating more modern lightweight materials such as fabric and aluminum. These changes have come to root in order to combat high drayage costs and enable quicker setup times. It almost seems that the custom trade show displays are becoming more European in style and are introducing new aspects that are oddly similar to modular trade show displays.
These booths are being designed and constructed with multiple booths sizes and configurations in mind. This allows the exhibitor the freedom of choice on needed display size along with substantial savings netted from the lack of booth construction charges. You see there was no need for added construction chargers since the trade show exhibits were originally designed to setup in multiple configurations. Hopefully current trends and cost savings will stimulate growth through the conventions industry but in the end time will be the judging factor of success.
